This glacier is a compound valley glacier formed by the confluence of a southbound main glacier (also known as the Great Winter Kemadi Glacier) and a southwest facing branch glacier (also known as the Little Winter Kemadi Glacier). The main glacier has an area of 14.63 square kilometers, a length of 5.4 km, an elevation of 5275m at the end, and a branch glacier has an area of 1.767 square kilometers, a length of about 2.8 km. Material balance observations have been conducted on the branch glaciers in the past.
